Microgaming Mega Moolah jackpot smashing records, over $11 million
Microgaming’s Mega Moolah jackpot hit eight figures in August and is larger than it has ever been, nearing the $/€/£11.4 million mark as of Sept. 9.
All Mega Moolah jackpots are paid out to players in the currency in which they are playing. If the winner is playing in a currency that is not the one worth the most at the time — currently pounds — then when the jackpot resets, it is only reduced by the value paid out once the exchange rate has been taken into account. In this case, if someone playing in U.S. dollars won $11.4 million, the jackpot would be reduced by approximately £7.4 million (using today’s exchange rates), and the new jackpot would be about $/€/£4 million.
