World Cup-winner Jonny Wilkinson believes that England must defeat Ireland in the Six Nations on February 22 (England 2/5, Draw 22/1, Ireland 15/8 – Match Betting) to put down a marker for the World Cup next year.
Stuart Lancaster’s side lost their opening match of the Six Nations in France, but bounced back to winning ways with an impressive 20-0 victory over Scotland.

North looking to bounce back
George North believes a victory over France next Friday will see his side get their Six Nations campaign back on track (Match Betting – Wales 8/13, draw 20/1 France 13/10).
After struggling to an unconvincing opening win over Italy, they were comfortably beaten last weekend by Ireland in Dublin and now face a huge task if they are to retain their crown, a success that would see them become the first team to win the tournament three years in a row.

Warren Gatland’s (9/1 Six Nations outright) men are often brilliant at home though and North believes Friday’s game gives his side the perfect chance to demonstrate their class and get their campaign back on track.
“I am a big believer in sides being judged on how they react to a setback, and the game against France is a chance to show how we can bounce back,” he said. “It’s a sign of a good side to turn things around and bounce back, and that is what we need to do.
“We need to react next week – the defeat was a massive disappointment. It is important to remember that we proved last year that defeat doesn’t mean it’s all lost.”
